Why butterflies all flew
Abandoned welfare in Bellevue

To breathe the air away
A ceaseless midsummer stay

Make every raindrop bright
Fluttering moons a wakeful night

To seek in skipped heartbeats
An illusive word that completes

Turn void to fleeting space
Champagne bubbles on a death race

To let senses wing free
A lively swarm on tickling spree

Why they swirl by the hour
Around this withered false flower

To know not to inquire
The beauty in futile desire
