I’m in progress with scanning negative, b&w film I made in the 8os and thought I would show one or two from that journey. It will take a while… This frame is from the first roll of b&w film I ever made. I used Ilford FP4.

It’s Stockholm, along Hornsgatan, and there’s a hotel there now.

  1. This will be an interesting trip Ove. Looking forward to seeing more. This building looks interesting I must say. The hotel that is there now,is it the same building or was this one knocked down?

BTW may I ask how you are scanning your negatives?

  2. Ove says:

The building was no more shortly after I made this photo, they knocked out entire quarters during this period of time.
For the scanning, I use a fladbed scanner (Epson V600) that seems to work fine quality-wise, but is a bit cumbersome to use. I can scan 12 frames at time, with it.

Interesting building. the photo has some historic value now, I should think.

  4. Ove says:

Yes, but mostly to me, I assume. Interestingly enough, since I’ve been away from the city since ’89, I seem to remember what’s missing, in contrary to those who stayed…
