The modern tale of the connected man, the contemporary warriors with their smartphones and infinite hunger for extraordinary life experiences, how will it be told in a thousand years?
Good question. I’ve been watching “The History of Scotland” recently and so much of history is interpretation. Interpretation by those who write it and interpretation by those who research it. I also wonder what will happen to all this digital treasure that we are amassing if one day we no longer have the power to run our machines. Unlikely I know but let’s face it, bytes just don’t have the longevity of rocks.
BTW, I’ll say again, I am truly enjoying your photography. Thanks.
Good point, Christopher. What exactly will they think we enjoyed? There vision will be biased with their contemporary views. Will this particular stone, which inevitably is going to outlive our electronics, make a difference in future look-backs?
Thanks, Cedric, I appreciate it! Sometimes, it feels like I’m just producing crap, now when I’m into this 365 project. I know I’m making an effort doing images that matters to me, but yet…. You bring an interesting angle, when wont we have the power required for all our machines? That will likely be the end of this era.
Yes, it's true, this site is in fact near to insignificant, if you ask around for ranks and such. I hope you'll enjoy anyway, the Internet outskirts aren't that bad, after all.
Perhaps they’ll say, “Hej, isn’t that Jesper’s great great great (..etc)… grandson Ove?” Or maybe, “Man, they must’ve really liked rocks!”

The story will be told from our cranial implants of course.
I love Cedric’s quote “bytes just don’t have the longevity of rocks.” Imagine how much history can be erased with a magnet!
Mark, history must boil down to get interesting, so bring forth that huge magnet of yours.
