There are some -5°C outdoor, not particularly Arctic but anyway. Thing is, no matter how bad the weather is, you will see a few people standing there. The cold is probably rather comfortable, if you compare with the rain that most often falls horizontally. It’s like a wind tunnel, the place. It’s apparently worth it.

The power of addiction…
I like this “no pretense, no frills” approach – oh yes, and the square works well here, too.
An interesting statement on how we often become ruled by our habits, compulsions and/or addictions. A smoking break, I believe, where even the cold and damp offer little can’t discourage the hardcore. Nicely depicted.
Thanks, Markus! You can almost say the square format has become an adiction.
Thanks, Earl! I’m curious on how this urge can be so strong that not even really crappy weather keeps you from it. As said, this is probably rather nice conditions, in their world.
Ever walked by any of those smoking-cages in airport? After that, you’d enjoy the fresh air in the photo! Btw, the color-scheme of the photo works fabulously, just the right touch of a bit surrealism and cold.
I have, I guess you don’t have to light your own cigarette in one of those.
Thanks, Thomas!
