Is there anybody out there?

Quite unintended, this started some music in my  head. Pink Floyd, a phrase from one of the tracks from the Wall. This has nothing to do with that record, not even unconsciously. The phrase fits the theme of this post, although.

I’ve been away for a while, away from everything that spells out Internet and present in the more tangible reality. Well, all I’ve been writing about and everything that I have been photographing, that has been real, too. This time, I’ve been busy with life and a course in graphic design that I participated in this semester. The former has perhaps not been very tangible, but it is nonetheless a reality show that is broadcast in my life annually. Not very fun, but it’s in the past now. The latter was really fun, and I learned a lot that I hope I can gain from in my profession. Now, I don’t only master Illustrator, I also know InDesign at my finger tips. Very useful. In fact, this takes me directly to SOFOBOMO.

Apparently, the SOFOBOMO window starts tomorrow!?! This came as quite a shock to me, since I though I should participate, earlier this year, at least. Well, I have not been thinking of quitting, there are still plenty of time to consider what to do, if anything at all, that is. And, as an answer to myself – yes, I’ve seen that some has started to blog on this topic, so there are definitely many that still are out there. Hardly a surprise, and I’m happy for it.

Hello, everybody! :-)

I have a copy of InDesign CS4 sitting on my desk that I have yet to start trying to learn. Sometimes I wonder if I need to take a graphic design course to force me to put aside time for it. Good luck on your book if you do it. It is something I have been thinking about for awhile, just seems like too much gets in the way.

    Hey, and welcome back! :)

Wonderfully dreamy photo, a real treat for lensbaby fans and even beautiful for the more reluctant people like me.

Nice to see you back Ove and great use of the Lensbaby. That is one great looking image.

Man, every time I see one of your Lensbaby images, I want to try that toy out. Which one do you have, and how do you use it? Also, can I now ask you InDesign questions?

  5. Paul says:

Hey, Ove! We’re still out here and tuned in! Glad to see you back, buddy!

Thanks, everybody! It’s been a while, I hardly remembered how the back-end of this blog worked.

You know I love to make these lensbaby images, I’m glad many of you like them. I use the lensbaby Composer, now a days most often with soft focusing glass mounted.

Chris, sure, you never know, I might have the answer. But I have to say, four months doesn’t make a wizard. :-)

Ove, this has to be one of my all time favorite Lens Baby shots! Wonderful use of the softness and shooting angle. Welcome back.

  8. Ove says:

Thanks, Earl! I appreciate your kind words. I don’t think I ever will get tired of my Lensbaby. It lends itself to more creative shooting.

What Lenbaby photo?! Am I going crazy?

Welcome back, Ove. You have been missed. Wow. With all the inquiries, it sounds as though you could start an on-line class for InDesign. You used your time off well.

  10. Ove says:

Thanks, Anita! It’s good to be back! Online class, hm, I’ll think I stick to what I do best, just using the tools. :-D
I used the Lensbaby lens with soft focus glass when making this image. The effect is not so apparent and it doesn’t have the Lensbaby signature written all over it, so I don’t think your going crazy. :-)

No, I couldn’t see any image at all. Now that I see it, Wow! No wonder others were oohing and aahing. You certainly did everything right on this one. I wish I thought getting a lensbaby would assure me of getting a photo like this.
