Hattifnattar

Gloves in window

I caught this view the other day,  but I have passed it many times and every time with the wrong lens mounted. This time I had the right lens, so I was happy to be able to photograph the view with this amount of detail. What on earth is going on behind those windows…? Makes me think of the Moomin characters, which almost none but Scandinavians knows who they are… I’m thinking of hattifnattar, to be specific, which makes even fewer understand now, since that’s what they are called in Swedish. Well well, for all you not fancying Finnish stories, the image per se shows lots of details from a typical house in the centre of Lund. :-)

Hattifnattar? Är du säker på att du inte pratar finska nu…?

What an interesting find! The contents of that window certainly do bring forth many more questions than answers. :-)

Indeed, Mark, it does leave a few open ends… :)
These are gloves, if any one fails to see it at this resolution, and who keeps gloves on dry like this…?

This appears to be an attempt to either dry gloves or use gloves as a window shade…either way, or something else, this made for a creative image. I know what you mean, you drive by something, or walk past something and you either don’t have your camera, or the wrong lens. I’m glad you were able to finally capture it.

Gloves as a window shade, who would have thought of that, it must be an interesting person having that apartment. :)

Great catch! I guess everyone in that building hates getting dishpan hands…

I do know the moomins, but only vaguely remember them from when I was small. I love that picture though, it just has that lovely touch of weirdness about it :)

Yeas, it has, it’s easy to think up crazy stories around it. :-)

  • Welcome to my blog about this and that – ditt & datt in Swedish. The topics you'll find here are not always that general, though. You wont find anything on football, for instance. Moreover, all the light will most often be on photographs I made. In fact, if I tell something I find worthwhile telling, I usually stick a few of my photographs to the story. You could almost say this is about photography, and in a way you're right, it is. But it is also about what I see.
