Thanks, Markus! I was really drawn to the intense light. Look at the exif, I used 1/500 second and f/8 (ISO 100). That’s a lot of light for being indoor. I have been thinking of that star, too, but really don’t know why it’s there. If it was from last Christmas, then they didn’t have to bother taking it down because there was only a month left to the next, when I took the picture.

Wonderful image. I like the strong graphics of the window, but that light falloff towards the viewer creates an irresistible lead into the image. BTW – that 5-pointed star, is it a trade union symbol or a leftover from christmas?

Thank you, Chris! And yes, I like black a lot, the more the better. Sometimes I wish I had the same willingness to go high-key, because I do like other’s work that are that. For some reason, I don’t do these myself, I have no clue why…

I like how unafraid you are to let parts of your image go black. I have a tendency to want detail everywhere, and I think it hurts the image oftentimes. This is a great image.
