Flower

Flower

I have no clue what this could be, but it looks like an orchid. I found it growing all alone among all the weed on an abandoned gardening lot, whereby I often stop for a mental pause when bicycling to work. A way to contemplate and gather energy for another day. The place was mostly in deep shadow, all dark but the thin rays of morning light that fell right into the scene at this flower. An absolutely lovely sight, which made me happy happy.

Ove, I believe the flower’s an Iris. They are abundant here. I like the way the light strikes it in this photo.

Earl is right, this is definitely an Iris. In gardens you can find the most wonderful varieties, some maybe a bit over the top. Great Lighting in your image, especially when seen in large on flickr it reveals wonderful details of the flower.

Isn’t it, Anita? You really wonders how all this beauty once was created. Makes you want to be born as a flower, next time. (Not that I believe in this, but anyway).

  • Welcome to my blog about this and that – ditt & datt in Swedish. The topics you'll find here are not always that general, though. You wont find anything on football, for instance. Moreover, all the light will most often be on photographs I made. In fact, if I tell something I find worthwhile telling, I usually stick a few of my photographs to the story. You could almost say this is about photography, and in a way you're right, it is. But it is also about what I see.
