Today, on my way back from lunch, I passed by these two guys, of which I know one of them from before. They were about to create a sculpture by welding bicycle frames. Interesting work, but mostly funny. They thought so too, even if bicycles are darn serious for us here in Lund, in fact being part of this town’s veins. The bicycles were typical left-overs from last years students, of which there are numerous to find every summer.
Not long away from this place, a truck loaded with such bicycles had parked right outside the student organisation’s main gate. Rusty and worn out bicycles stood on display, each seemed to have a price tag of 800 kronor, which is about $100.
Quite a commerce, and that made me thinking that the sculpture in the end would be worth a heck load of money. For a student, that said. In fact, there seemed to be mostly foreign students who were interested in making such a bargain. Native ones know better how to get one for much less (it reads free). Anyway, it’s good that all the bicycles are recycled and that everybody can have one, even if some have to pay a bit more. It’s for a good cause.

That’s pretty cool that bicycles are such a big part of life in the city. What a interesting sculpture! It looks like this city was built for “The decisive moment”.
It is!
Well, then! When I get my Leica I shall have to come over and take advantage of it!
You should!
As I should come visit your very interesting country! Consider yourself have a standing invitation here in Lund.
