Busy bee

Somewhat birdish, though….

Sun in the eyes

Anyway, the bird in the picture gets to represent this bee. The picture is from this Saturday and illustrates quite well how the weekend passed. Lots of people came out from their cribs and those restaurants and bars where you can sit outside were all full of people. It was absolutely wonderful weather and I got my share of it, with one or two beers at one of all these outdoor bars.

Anyway #2, back to the busy bee. I have had a lot to do with my day time work and cut down on my photography activities a bit. This week is the last week for me to declare my small business, and on top of this I have still plentissimo of work. But that was yesterday, today I started to see the light, as in the picture, in fact. Yeah, I know, I should give this picture a rest now…

Anyway #3, back to work. Ciao!

What a wonderful picture. The bird really makes it sort of iconic. Also, the flare just adds to the photo.

Thanks Paul! At first I didn’t like the outcome of this picture, in particular was the flare hard to work with to get look decently good. I believe b/w film would have been a much better starting point in this case, since I think the flare totally blow out the rgb sensor. You should have seen how the colour original looked like before processing, totally awful to be frank. After the processing work, I like it more and more.

For some reason this photograph evokes classic photography for me. Maybe it’s the clearly European buildings, the symbolism of the bird, whatever, but to me it’s a brilliant image. And (laughing) you’re right, shooting this with film you might’ve had an easier time with the sun. However, that matters not: this is a great image. Bravo!

    Thanks a lot, Chris!
You should have seen the flare, like a rainbow, where the individual rgb colours showed up at different strength on different spots along it. With b/w film I would probably got a more evenly toned flare, I guess. LoL

What a great shot – you captured the bird at seemingly the best profile and the lens flare just sells it. Don’t ever let anyone tell you that flare is bad. :)

No, I won’t Karen, even if I break a rule or two. :)

  • Welcome to my blog about this and that – ditt & datt in Swedish. The topics you'll find here are not always that general, though. You wont find anything on football, for instance. Moreover, all the light will most often be on photographs I made. In fact, if I tell something I find worthwhile telling, I usually stick a few of my photographs to the story. You could almost say this is about photography, and in a way you're right, it is. But it is also about what I see.
